What version of After Effects do I need? +
KHAOS Engine requires After Effects CC 2020 (version 17.0) or newer. It has been tested on AE 2023 and AE 2025.
Does it work on Mac? +
The CEP extension works on both Windows and Mac. The custom .aex plugins are currently Windows-only — Mac support is in development for v1.1.
Does it work on vertical (9:16) comps? +
Yes. KHAOS Engine was built with Reels and TikTok in mind. Every transition and overlay works on both 16:9 and 9:16 compositions.
Can I use it commercially? +
Yes. Your license covers commercial use — client work, paid projects, monetized content, all of it. One license per user.
How do I install it? +
After purchase you'll receive a download link with the extension folder and .aex plugin files. The install guide walks you through placing them in the right folders — takes about 5 minutes.
What if something breaks? +
